Acropolis Information
The Acropolis is the original site of Athens, Greece, a limestone plateau supporting the Parthenon, the all-marble temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Parthenos. A landmark visible from many parts of the modern city.
When you visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon, try to get there at opening time, to avoid crowds. The site includes the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Nike and the Aeropagus, the rocky hill that served as the first high court.
Acropolis site – Open: daily 8:00am – 7:30pm (until October 31 – in winter it closes earlier)
Acropolis museum – MON. Closed, TUE-SUN. 8:00am – 8:00pm. Last Admission 7:30pm, Galleries cleared 7:45pm.
Closed the following holidays: 1 January, 25 March, Easter Sunday, 1 May, 25 December and 26 December.
Admission – 1 euros (about $1.45 USD)
Free admission: Free entrance for visitors exempted from fee by Greek legislation.
